“Chicco” Chiodi marks important points
If we have described the first GP Valkenswaard as "hellish", we do not have enough adjectives to define the terrible GP of Spain.
The Spanish one was a weekend winter typically giving a little truce only Saturday during the time practices then erupt with a heavy rain throughout Sunday.
Chicco Chiodi, thanks to his experience, has managed very well this race ridden in prohibitive conditions that forced organizers to cancel race 2 of the MX1 class.
In race 1 "Chicco" has exploited the good traction of his factory TM MX450F succeeding to start with the head of the group. At the end of the first lap he passes through fifth position and remains for more than half race in the top ten. He stops in the pits to change goggles and gloves and start again around the eighteenth position and manages to recover again until the thirteenth place.
Chicco said end of the race: “….It was a very difficult race. I have been obliged to stop to change gloves and googles because I was not able to ride anymore. It’s a shape because otherwise I should finish in the top ten! It will be the next……..”.
Next appointment the 27th April 2008 to Agueda, Portugal, for the third round of the MX1 Motocross World Championship.
